Over the first couple of months of lockdown I collected images of fabric exclusively from 1940’s LIFE magazines. After collecting many pieces I was hesitant to use them, afraid I may never be able to replace them. I sat with this for a little while and realized that these clippings had become to precious. This kind of thinking made it difficult to try new things. So, I decided, since these clippings were so precious I should build monuments to them and let them go. Moral of the story: don’t let ideas you’ve historically held important stand in the way of growth. The ideas that matter will last.
